ARCOlisboa 2020 Online

The 2020 edition of ARCO Lisboa, Portugal’s young and dynamic contemporary art fair, has decided to reschedule its physical version to 2021 while converting this year’s edition into a four-week-long online version which will continue to offer online fair-goers exclusive access to the vibrant Portuguese contemporary art scene.
The artists selected by Everard Read explore issues pertinent to the African continent: the legacies of trauma and the need to reimagine history and narrative from an African perspective. They share a desire to claim a more optimistic future. This is only achievable by examining the impact our colonial past has on the present, and interrogating how Africa engages with itself.
